Important Update regarding COVID-19 response

March 21, 2020 / webadmin / Uncategorized / No Comments

Dear valued customers,

We appreciate your business and are honored to take care of your propane needs.  As we go through this unprecedented and uncertain time, we strongly encourage each of you to keep your propane tank above 25% as recommended by the Oklahoma Propane Gas Association and Oklahoma LP Gas Board in a joint statement they released:

“As concerns regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) spread throughout our state, the health and well-being of our customers and employees are a top priority of the Oklahoma Propane Gas Association and the Oklahoma LP Gas Board.

In these unprecedented times, we want to help propane company employees and consumers minimize their risk of exposure to the Coronavirus. Every precautionary measure is being taken to safeguard against this health threat. However, to reduce the risk even further, we encourage propane consumers to keep their tanks full.

OPGA and the LP Gas Board recommend contacting your propane dealer to refill your tank before it reaches 25% capacity. You can monitor your tank levels by reading the gauge attached to your tank.”

As you probably know, there are laws regarding out-of-gas situations. These regulations normally require anyone delivering propane to an out-of-gas customer to perform a leak check. This leak check typically requires your propane professional to enter your home, therefore creating a personal contact situation. In order to avoid this risk, leak tests should only be done in unavoidable emergencies. Running out of propane is not an unavoidable emergency, so during this health crisis, if you let your tank get below 5% and a leak test is required,  there will be a $100 fee to perform the test. We hope that you will avoid this by keeping your tank above 25% at all times.

We know many of you typically wait until our summer fill special to have your tank filled.  Propane prices have dropped significantly this week, so you do not have to wait until summer to get a low price on your propane.  Current prices are on par with summer prices from 2019.  For your safety and ours, we encourage you to call  and have your tank filled before you are at 25%.

Additionally, we are asking that you pay by credit card over the phone, mail in a check, or put cash/check under the dome of your tank.  Our drivers will not be collecting money directly from customers at this time in order to adhere to the CDC’s social distancing recommendation.  Please try to find payment methods that do not require you to come into our office to pay while we wait for this crisis to subside.

We are available to answer any questions you may have, and we are committed to staying open and serving your propane needs during this worldwide pandemic.  We appreciate your business and wish each of you a safe and healthy spring.

Sincerely,

Michael L Southward
